Meadows Medical Centre has operated at this site since 1998. It is now known as Meadows Medical Centre Vic, and was borne out of Maidstone Street Medical which was established in 1978 in Altona.

This practice is committed to providing comprehensive General Practice care to all individuals and families in this community. All patient consultations are kept confidential as per medical protocol.

Your medical records are documents of confidentiality.

As such, it is our Practice policy to ensure the security and privacy of all medical records held on the premises is available only to authorised staff members of this practice.

Any and all information concerning patients of this practice is strictly confidential.

No information may be released to any individual without the written consent of the patient involved

Patient feedback

Our friendly and knowledgeable Reception staff are here to assist clients/patients. Please feel free to discuss administrative matters, appointments and so on with them.

If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the receptionist. You may prefer to submit your problem in writing, please mail or hand to our reception staff.

Appointments and Fees:

Please ring (03) 9369 4266 to make an appointment.

Every effort will be made to schedule your preferred time with your GP, Nurse or Allied Health Professional.

For routine visits however, we advise you to book ahead to ensure continuity of care with your usual doctor.

Patients who are on Pension and Health Care Cards may be bulk billed.

The clinic also provides care for WorkCover, TAC & Comcare Patients.

Zero Tolerance Policy:

At Meadows Medical Centre Vic, we support and promote the governments ‘Zero Tolerance’ campaign implemented for all Health Services and Staff. We also abide by our own Zero Tolerance policy ensuring that our doctor, nurse, clinical and non-clinical staff have the right to work and care for our patients without fear of being abused, intimidated or physically attacked/harmed.

It is important to be reminded that the staff at Meadows are confronted on a regular basis with a multitude of difficult tasks, situations and responsibilities, and despite these sometimes overwhelming and stressful conditions, all of our staff at aim to be polite, helpful and sensitive to all of our patients, their individual needs and circumstances.

We appreciate that when a patient is acutely unwell, occasionally rational thought and reasonable behavior is difficult to maintain. While we do take this into consideration and we always attempt to deescalate mounting situations, at NO point will aggressive, violent or abusive behavior be tolerated within this Practice. It may result in you being removed from our Practice list and in some cases, where necessary, appropriate authorities may be contacted.

Our Zero Tolerance policy indicates the following forms of the behavior as unacceptable and will not be tolerated within our Practice.

  • Use of abusive, threatening or vulgar language to Staff or other patient’s.
  • Any form of physical violence towards any member of our Staff or other patients.
  • Insulting or attempted intimidation towards staff.
  • Any racial abuse or sexual harassment.
  • Persistent or unrealistic demands. Requests are always attempted to be met wherever possible, they are within however, and we can only work within our scope, our medico-legal, ethical and physical time constraints. Explanations are always offered politely when the initial demand cannot be met.
  • Any form of damage or stealing from the Practice’s premises, staff or patients.
  • Obtaining or selling of drugs on or around the premises.
  • Obtaining medical services fraudulently.

Such behavior is disruptive to other patients, of which include young children, elderly or our Staff who deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and courtesy at all times. All of our staff should be able to do their jobs without being verbally or physically abused.

Anyone found abusing the staff in person or on the telephone will be asked to leave the practice.

Email Policy

Email is not a secure form of communication and we do not use this to communicate personal information to any of our patients without their consent.

We make every effort to keep all of our patients information secure and confidential, it is important for patients to be aware of the risks associated with electronic communication, such as your private information could potentially be compromised and accessed by someone other than the intended recipient.

Patients must also be aware that any communication that they direct to us via email is also NOT secure and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Patients need to be warned that communicating through email do so at their own risk.
